Q: “How to Pair with Buddie earbuds?”

1. Connect the Buddie earbuds to your phone via Bluetooth settings. Please note that in the Bluetooth settings, you may see two Buddie devices listed. You only need to connect to the one that has the same icon as a normal Bluetooth earbuds.

2. Pair the Buddie earbuds with the App via the Bluetooth icon in the top right corner of the App. If your Buddie earbuds are connected and paired to the App, the Bluetooth icon in the top-right corner will turn blue.
           

Q: “How to tell Buddie to have a conversation or be quiet and just listen?”

Say 'Hello Buddie' to have a conversation with Buddie. Say 'Just Listen' if you want Buddie to be silent but continue transcribing for later reference. You can only have a conversation with Buddie when the Buddie earbuds are connected and paired to the App.

Privacy implications: When Buddie is just listening and you aren't in an on-line meeting or phone call, the transcripts are stored locally on your phone and not transmitted to third-party services. However, if you start a conversation by saying "Hello Buddie", your words and recent transcripts are sent to a third-party LLM you are subscribed to. Q: “How to enable online meeting/phone call transcription?”

  1. Make sure your Buddie earbuds are connected and paired to the App, which is indicated by the Bluetooth icon in the top-right corner being blue.
  2. Join online meetings/phone calls, Buddie will automatically transcribe the conversation for you.
  3. After the online meeting ends, keep your earbuds and the app connected for at least 10 seconds, and the meeting will be summarized. You can tap the 'journal' icon in the lower-right corner to review the online meeting summaries and transcripts. The summaries will appear on that page about a minute after the meeting ends.
Privacy implications: The audio is transmitted to the third-party service you are subscribed to, thereby improving transcription accuracy, and the transcript of the meeting or call is sent to the third-party LLM you are subscribed to, to generate the summary.

 

Q: “How to get assistance during online meetings/phone calls?”

Tap the 'Help me Buddie' button for assistance during the conversation.

Q: “How to stop recording?”

Tap the microphone button in the bottom left corner of the App's main page to stop recording.
